Before You Pass It On

There are a lot of emails floating around with false information about many things political. Before you pass them on, please check the references made in them (person's name, place of employment, etc.). I have found that nearly all the emails I am sent with statistics are untrue. A simple google search will usually let you know! Often times you can know, if it's not true, if there are spelling mistakes. Most professionals (usually who these emails are attributed to) use spell check.

My father forwards a lot of junk to me. He's finally been trained to check rumors and statements on snopes.com and even then some falsehoods get past him.

My policy is to never forward anything. They try to guilt you into it. If something is worth forwarding, it's worth my time to write a new e-mail.
